Nanaimo and Area Land Trust, the group that saved Linley Valley, is willing to raise the funds to buy out the couple’s holdings. Unfortunately, the owners refuse to negotiate.

The Veterans of Clayoquot, our local environmentalist activist group has trained and dedicated blockaders ready to intervene if needed. We are not willing to stand back and watch the mountain destroyed by people too greedy to accept a fair buyout.

The Regional District has spend $5.500 of your tax money to survey the mountain. The results should be used as a basis for a buyout. If more cutting is done, the RDN survey will be useless. We want the owners to get a fair price for the land based on the RDN survey. VOC does not want to have to intervene on site but WILL DO SO if blasting or clearcutting of the mountain resumes. Our group members are willing to risk arrest and being sued but we need your active support.

MOST IMPORTANT: PHONE or FAX the owners PETER REEVE or Judith Pennyfeather at 1- 250-748-6218 or FAX 1- 250-748-6219 and ask them politely to NEGOTIATE. We want them to get a fair price for the land based on the RDN survey. This situation can work out to everyone’s benefit, only if common sense prevails.

PLEASE HELP. WE NEED YOUR ACTIVE SUPPORT. EMAIL dbcutts@hotmail.com
